Pouakani Trust 2025 AGM

Ngā mihi nui to everyone involved in today’s Pouakani Trust 2025 AGM.

–

Appreciate all our members who showed up — both in person and online — and contributed to the kōrero, despite challenging times with escalating fuel prices.

–

Big thanks to our Trustees, kaumātua, and operations team who pulled everything together behind the scenes to make the day run smoothly.

Special thanks to the Mokai Marae home people & committee for allowing us to utilise such a beautiful venue.

–

Especially Whaea Timu & Uncle Paora, whose amazing work ethic and leadership set a brilliant example for all our rangatahi, helping bring our AGM back to our people.

–

Also to Moana & Mike (Local Gecko) and their amazing rangatahi for the videography, and to Brownie’s Spit Roast for the outstanding three-meat gourmet kai, salads, and dessert.

–

Lastly, to our three newly elected/reelected Trustees: Craig Ahipene (43 votes), Peter Mariu (31 votes) & Jovita Taite (28 votes) — outstanding, inspirational kōrero from you all, and a strong mix of skills to add to the Board’s capability. Arohamai to Rio (Mario) Hemopo-Hunuki missing out this year with (16 votes).

Pouakani people — we heard you loud and clear today, and we will come back with clear kōrero on a Grants update before mid-year.

A solid day and good direction ahead for the Trust.
